Godspeed You! Black Emperor – F#A# (CD)

Rooted in the late-'90s Montreal underground, Godspeed You! Black Emperor built their earliest recordings from the same raw, communal impulse that drives great live music, trading in long-form instrumental arcs that reward patience the way a second-set jam rewards a crowd willing to follow wherever the band leads. F#A∞ began as a limited cassette before finding wider release, and that DIY origin still haunts every crackle and found-sound fragment embedded in the grooves.
