Gregory Porter – Take Me To The Alley (2-LP Vinyl)

Gregory Porter arrived at *Take Me To The Alley* having already won a Grammy for *Liquid Spirit*, which meant the pressure was real and the audience was listening. Where that breakthrough leaned into swing and soul energy, this 2016 follow-up settled into something quieter and more devotional, rooted in gospel and the kind of slow-burning balladry Porter absorbed growing up with a preacher mother in Bakersfield, California.
