Singing Bones, originally released in 2003, arrived at a moment when Brett and Rennie Sparks were deepening their already distinctive blend of gothic imagery and country noir. Rennie's lyrics on this record draw heavily from folklore and natural history, giving the songs a timeless, almost ancient quality that rewards repeated listening long after the stories sink in.

Limited edition re-release of the classic album from The Handsome Family, this reissue has been remastered for vinyl by Guy Davie at Electric. Repackaged sleeve includes a lyric insert and a bonus CD 'Invisible Bones' of outtakes and live recordings. Includes the True Detective opening theme tune ""Far From Any Road""The Handsome Family (songwriting and marriage partners Brett and Rennie Sparks) have been defining the dark end of Americana for over 30 years. Brett writes the music and Rennie writes the words. Their work has been covered by many artists including Jeff Tweedy, Andrew Bird and most-recently Phoebe Bridgers.
