Each track is tied to a specific night and venue, giving the record a natural sense of movement, from Vermont to the Bay Area to Massachusetts, then back to Chicago. Bowling’s touch is expressive and precise, and her arrangements keep the spirit of the originals while opening up new paths, with left-hand momentum, shimmering voicings, and extended improvisational development.
