Product Details
Long before arena rock bands were filling stadiums with extended instrumental workouts, Iron Butterfly was doing it on wax. The title track's hypnotic organ drone, Doug Ingle's unmistakable vocals, and Ron Bushy's relentless drum solo gave late-'60s rock audiences a blueprint for what heavy music could become, influencing everyone from hard rock to the earliest stirrings of metal.
The Epitome of psychedelic excess" according to AllMusic, it was Atlantic Records' top selling album for several years, the biggest selling album of 1969, and has sold more than 30 million records worldwide. Features the 17 minute long title track.
