Israel Vibration formed in the late 1970s after Skelly, Wiss, and Apple met as children at the Mona Rehabilitation Centre in Jamaica, a shared experience that gave their music a depth of spiritual conviction few groups could match. Their harmonies carry that weight, rooted in Rastafarian faith and shaped by genuine hardship. Getting the Roots Radics behind them in the studio was no small thing; that rhythm section defined the sound of roots reggae's golden era.
Released in 1993 and long unavailable, this album was recorded at Music Works Recording Studio-renamed Anchor Recording Studio that same year, a place well known to reggae enthusiasts. It was produced by Doctor Dead and mixed at the prestigious Lion & Fox Recording Studio, the American base of the RAS Records label.The line-up is outstanding, featuring Flabba Holt on bass, Tee Bird on keyboards, Dwight Pinkney on guitar, and Sky Juice on percussion-in short, the full Roots Radics crew.As always, Skelly, Wiss, and Apple take turns on lead vocals while the others elevate each track with their signature high-pitched harmonic choruses. Rooted in a classic Roots Rock Reggae style, this album stands as a cornerstone of the group's discography.We are proud to present it today in this CD edition, offering a renewed listening experience that highlights the full richness and depth of this essential reggae work.
