By 1993, Shoreline Amphitheater was essentially Jerry's home turf, a shed show that felt like a neighborhood gathering for Bay Area faithful who turned out in droves for JGB nights. The band had been playing together long enough that Melvin Seals' Hammond B3 and the vocal harmonies of Jones and LaBranch were as integral to the sound as Garcia's guitar, giving these sets a warmth and soulfulness the Dead never quite replicated.
