Product Details
Thick As a Brick arrived as Jethro Tull's pointed response to critics who had labeled 1971's Aqualung a concept album, a label Anderson bristled at. The Steven Wilson remix, drawn from the original multitrack tapes, opens up the album's dense arrangements in ways the 1972 mix couldn't quite achieve, giving Anderson's flute and Martin Barre's guitar room to breathe across the full 44-minute suite.
Single disc release of the 2014 Steven 'Porcupine Tree' Wilson mix of this classic album by Ian Anderson and friends. Thick As A Brick was the fifth studio album by Jethro Tull, released in 1972. The album is notable for only including one song, which spans the entire album. Thick As A Brick was deliberately crafted in the style of a concept album (and as a "bombastic" and "over the top" parody). The original packaging, designed like a newspaper, claims the album to be a musical adaptation of an epic poem by a (fictional) eight-year-old genius, though the lyrics were actually written by the band's frontman, Ian Anderson. The album was a commercial success and topped the US charts.
