Product Details
Centerfield arrived in 1985 after years of legal battles with Fantasy Records that had kept Fogerty largely off the airwaves, making its chart dominance, the album hit number one, feel genuinely hard-won. The title track became an American stadium anthem so durable it's now practically inseparable from baseball itself, while "The Old Man Down the Road" proved Fogerty hadn't lost a step of the swampy, rhythmic tension he'd perfected with CCR.
John Fogerty’s Centerfield is one of rock’s great second acts, a triumphant return that reconnected the former Creedence Clearwater Revival frontman with his roots while delivering instant classics. Now, the landmark album receives the Hall of Fame treatment with a new remaster by Emily Lazar, updated artwork, and liner notes from David Wild and Brad Paisley. CD and digital (not vinyl) add three previously unreleased live performances: “Centerfield,” “Rock And Roll Girls,” and “The Old Man Down the Road.”
