Product Details
Centerfield arrived in 1985 after years of legal battles with Fantasy Records that had kept Fogerty largely silent, making its chart-topping success feel genuinely hard-won. The title track's baseball imagery landed it as one of the most enduring songs in the American sports canon, a fixture at ballparks for four decades and counting. Brad Paisley's liner notes here speak to Fogerty's outsized influence on a generation of roots-minded artists who came up in CCR's long shadow.
John Fogerty’s Centerfield is one of rock’s great second acts, a triumphant return that reconnected the former Creedence Clearwater Revival frontman with his roots while delivering instant classics. Now, the landmark album receives the Hall of Fame treatment with a new remaster by Emily Lazar, updated artwork, and liner notes from David Wild and Brad Paisley. CD and digital (not vinyl) add three previously unreleased live performances: “Centerfield,” “Rock And Roll Girls,” and “The Old Man Down the Road.”
