Product Details
Graduation landed in September 2007 in the middle of a very public sales battle with 50 Cent, a moment that said as much about hip-hop's shifting center of gravity as it did about either artist. West leaned hard into synthesizers and stadium-sized anthems here, drawing from krautrock and electronic music in ways that pushed rap radio somewhere it hadn't been before.
If the absence of other rappers and the guest presence Coldplay's Chris Martin is any indication, Kanye West's third album will be another stylistic tour de force, a trend he set in motion on his stunning 2004 debut. Producer Jon Brion also contributes notably.
