Kanye West – Yeezus (CD)

Recorded in a concentrated burst of sessions in Paris and mixed in just two weeks, *Yeezus* arrived in 2013 stripped of nearly all conventional rap album pageantry, no standard singles rollout, no album artwork. The industrial production, drawing on harsh electronic textures and Chicago drill, marked a sharp left turn even by West's standards, and the conversations it sparked about abrasion, ambition, and Black identity in America are still unfinished.
