Product Details
Los Angeles-based Kiefer has spent years bridging the gap between jazz harmony and hip-hop production, earning a following among listeners who care deeply about both. Memory Bomb marks a significant step, landing him on the same Blue Note roster that has housed Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, and Ambrose Akinmusire. The result feels less like a crossover move and more like a natural arrival.
Kiefer’s jazz piano fluency and beat-making prowess are at the heart of a distinctive musical style he calls “over the breaks.” On his Blue Note debut with Memory Bomb, the pianist and producer worked with a range of collaborators including CARRTOONS, Shibo, Cisco Swank, Nate Smith, Walter Smith III, Erick the Architect, Planet Giza, and more.
