Kurt Baker made his name in the Portland, Maine punk scene before relocating to Spain, where he built a devoted following across Europe's power pop underground. A student of the craft in the truest sense, his ear for a hook traces a direct line back to Cheap Trick and Nick Lowe, which makes a covers set built around new wave touchstones feel less like a side project and more like a statement of purpose.
Originally released in 2010 as a high-octane introduction to his solo career, Kurt Baker's Got It Covered makes it's long-awaited debut on vinyl. Produced by Linus of Hollywood and featuring guest appearances by Kay Hanley (Letters to Cleo) and drummer Adam Marcello, this seven-track mini-album delivers Baker's punchy takes on classics from Elvis Costello, Joe Jackson, and The Knack - a love letter to the late-70s and early-80s new wave era, now on the warm analog format it always deserved.
