Product Details

Ladytron arrived at *Velocifero* in 2008 having already built a devoted following through relentless touring and three albums that helped revive serious interest in analogue synth-pop after years of post-Britpop guitar dominance. Recorded with producer Jagz Kooner, the album carries a density and physicality that rewards headphone listening as much as a dancefloor, sitting comfortably alongside the darker end of the electronic canon that runs from Kraftwerk through early New Order.

'Velocifero' is a defining statement from one of Britain's most distinctive electronic bands. Ladytron's fourth studio album - and their first for Nettwerk - blends dark synth-pop, analogue textures and art-school experimentation into a sleek, emotionally resonant sound. The Liverpool-formed quartet paired driving rhythms with icy vocals, multilingual elements and cinematic production, creating one of the defining releases in their catalogue.Featuring standout tracks including Ghosts, Runaway and Tomorrow, 'Velocifero' was widely acclaimed for it's precision and innovation. Hailed by Brian Eno as the best of English pop music, Ladytron further cemented their reputation as synth-pop innovators, making 'Velocifero' a landmark release in late-2000s electronic music.
