Born Iverson Minter in Vicksburg, Mississippi, Louisiana Red carried the Delta deep in his bones while spending decades documenting the social wounds most bluesmen left unsung. A protégé who crossed paths with Muddy Waters and Little Walter in Chicago, he never lost his taste for music as protest, making an album with "antinuclear" in its title feel entirely in character for a man who always had something to say beyond the standard twelve bars.
