Product Details

Shoegaze pioneers who helped define the 4AD sound in the early 90s, Lush arrived at *Lovelife* having shed some of their gauzy dream-pop textures for a sharper, more direct pop sensibility. The shift divided purists but earned the band their widest commercial audience, proving Miki Berenyi and Emma Anderson could reinvent without losing their edge. For fans who came in through *Spooky* or *Split*, this is where the story ends, and it ends on their own terms.

Lush’s final studio, Lovelife, landed whilst Britpop was in full swing (Jarvis Cocker even duets with Miki on the track ‘Ciao!’), managing to fit in whilst sticking to the rules they set themselves with prior albums. Produced by Pete Bartlett (Therapy?, Kitchens of Distinction), it features three of the band’s biggest singles in ‘Single Girl’, ‘Ladykillers’ and ‘500 (Shake Baby Shake)
