Marty Robbins wasn't playing a character when he sang about the West. He grew up in Arizona steeped in that landscape and mythology, and it shows in every note of his cowboy repertoire. Where many country artists dipped into western themes as a marketing move, Robbins brought genuine conviction to the tradition, bridging the gap between classic singing cowboy heroes and the Nashville sound of his era.

On this 1963 release, well-known country singer, Marty Robbins, continued to showcase his love for cowboys and six-shooters with a "sequel" to the successful 1959 album, Gunfighter Ballads And Trail Songs. The Return of the Gunfighter album even propelled Robbins to pursue acting just 2 short years later.
