Released just after Miles died in September 1991, doo-bop captured a restless genius mid-experiment, chasing the same instinct that had driven him through bebop, modal jazz, fusion, and funk. Working with Easy Mo Bee placed Miles squarely inside early-90s New York hip-hop, a move that scandalized purists at the time but made perfect sense given a career defined by moving toward whatever sound felt most alive.
Vinyl LP pressing. doo-bop was a 1992 studio album by American jazz trumpeter Miles Davis. It was recorded with hip hop producer Easy Mo Bee and released posthumously. The album won a Grammy Award for Best R&B Instrumental Performance the following year.
