Product Details

Absolution marked the moment Muse stopped being a cult import obsession and became unavoidable. Released in 2003, it deepened the orchestral ambition of their earlier work while sharpening the band's apocalyptic edge, with Matt Bellamy's falsetto and baroque piano arrangements pushing arena rock into genuinely strange territory. For American listeners finally getting proper access, it arrived already battle-tested by massive UK tours and festival headlining slots.

Muse 's #1 U. K. album Absolution, along with it's Top 10 hit "Time Is Running Out, "has finally arrived in the U. S. Muse is Brit rock not Britpop, influenced by Smashing Pumpkins, Rage Against the Machine, Radiohead and Nirvana, not Blur or Oasis. A rock band with the bollocks to do more, say more, go further-faster-heavier- sweeter-bigger, with dazzling guitars banging against grand piano, Muse is audacious and ambitious, extreme and extravagant. The prayers of rock fans who yearn for something different have been answered with Absolution.
