Neil Young – Live Rust (CD)
Product Details
Captured at a turning point when punk was rattling the rafters and Young was staking his own claim to raw, uncompromising volume, these performances reframe familiar songs as something almost confrontational. The acoustic half strips "The Needle and the Damage Done" and "Comes a Time" down to bare wood, while the electric second half lets Crazy Horse stretch "Like a Hurricane" and "Cortez the Killer" into the kind of extended, feedback-laced territory that would define Young's live reputation for decades to come.
Live Rust is a live album by Neil Young & Crazy Horse, recorded during his fall 1978 Rust Never Sleeps tour. Live Rust composed of performances recorded at several venues, including the Cow Palace outside San Francisco. Young also directed a companion film, Rust Never Sleeps, under a pseudonym "Bernard Shakey", which consisted of footage from the Cow Palace.
