Recorded largely at home with a loose, unhurried approach, Flaming Pie arrived in 1997 while McCartney was deep in the Beatles Anthology project, and that immersion in the band's history clearly shook something loose. Jeff Lynne, who had produced the Anthology's "Free as a Bird," co-produced several tracks here, and Steve Miller turned up as a collaborator, giving the sessions an easy, collaborative spirit that comes through in every groove.
