Seattle's Pearl Django has spent three decades keeping the hot jazz flame burning in the Pacific Northwest, drawing on the gypsy jazz tradition pioneered by Django Reinhardt while building a sound that's distinctly their own. At sixteen albums deep, their catalog represents one of the most consistent bodies of work in contemporary acoustic jazz, the kind of quiet dedication that earns a genuinely devoted following.

Pearl Django's sixteenth release is titled Tableau. It's hard to believe the group has been performing and turning out CDs for over 32 years. Many of the group's fans admit to having the complete Pearl Django discography and this new release will not disappoint them. Tableaus, like the previous release, Simplicity, showcases the band's strong ensemble playing as well as their fine composing skills. Tableau has a mix of swing, ballad, Latin, and waltzes. All 12 of the tunes on the CD are band member originals influenced by Django Reinhardt.
