Bobby Gillespie and crew were deep in their post-"Screamadelica" restlessness when they recorded "Evil Heat" in 2002, drawing on krautrock, noise-rock, and Berlin-era Bowie as much as the dance-floor hedonism that made their name. Kate Moss and Kevin Shields both show up as collaborators, which tells you something about the strange, glamorous orbit the band was operating in at the time.
