Prince – Batman: Original Soundtrack (LP Vinyl)
Prince (Can) Vinyl Records
Product Details
Prince approached the Batman soundtrack not as a work-for-hire obligation but as a parallel narrative, writing songs from the perspective of the film's characters rather than simply scoring scenes. The result was one of the rare soundtrack albums that stood entirely on its own commercial and artistic terms, hitting number one and outselling the Danny Elfman orchestral score that accompanied it in theaters.
Reissue from the original Warner (Bros.) Records stereo master with digitally recreated original cover. After the expensive Lovesexy Tour, Prince needed to recoup his finances and agreed to record nine original songs for Tim Burton's blockbuster Batman, starring Michael Keaton, Jack Nicholson and Kim Basinger. The album released in 1989 was a huge success and contained hits like "Batdance" and "Partyman", as well as "Scandalous".
