Product Details

Released just months after *Purple Rain* turned Prince into a global phenomenon, *Around The World In A Day* was a deliberate left turn, drawing on the Beatles' psychedelic period and the communal spirit of late-'60s pop rather than cashing in on what had just made him a superstar. The title track was co-written with David Coleman and John L. Nelson, Prince's father, giving the album a personal dimension that often gets overlooked.

Prince's seventh studio album, and the second to be credited to Prince and the Revolution, Around The World In A Day, was released on April 22, 1985. Featuring no fewer than four singles, Around The World In A Day saw Prince and the Revolution change musical direction yet again, experimenting with psychedelic textures, incorporating new instrumentation, and expanding the genres of songs within the album. With audio newly remastered by original mastering engineer Bernie Grundman, with additional mastering by Chris James, the Around The World In A Day 2025 Remaster also includes the 22-minute 12" version of "America" (which makes it's debut on CD) and will be available November 21, 2025.
