Quiet Sun – Mainstream: 51st Anniversary Edition (LP Vinyl)
Product Details
Quiet Sun existed for only a handful of years, but their reach stretched far beyond their brief lifespan. Formed at Dulwich College alongside future Roxy Music members, the band represented a particularly heady moment in early-70s British experimentalism, and "Mainstream" captured that spirit in a single, long-delayed session that brought together some of the most restless musical minds of the era.
Quiet Sun was an English progressive rock band formed in the late 60’s at Dulwich College in South London which broke up in 1971. In 1975, during a break in Roxy Music's touring schedule, the original members reunited to record their only album, "Mainstream."
Though short-lived, their experimental approach and technical proficiency later earned them recognition as an influential cult band in the British progressive music scene.
The album, “Mainstream”, also features Brian Eno and Ian MacCormick (aka Ian MacDonald, ex-Assistant Editor, NME, and writer of “Revolution in the Head – The Beatles’ Records & the Sixties”)
