Vaults don't lie. Ray Charles spent decades recording far more than any label knew what to do with, and what survived in the archives reflects the same restless curiosity that made him one of the most consequential figures in American music. These are the takes and sessions that never found a proper home the first time around, which somehow makes them feel more honest.
