RC & The Gritz occupy a particular pocket in the Dallas-Fort Worth scene where neo-soul, hip-hop, and live funk blur into something that rewards patient listening. Williams built the group around musicians who understand groove as a collective conversation, not a backdrop, which is why their live reputation runs so deep in the Texas underground.
The Gritz Band is more of an eclectic super-group than your average hip-hop band. Known by some as Erykah Badu's band. Founded by band leader RC WIlliams in 2004, the group is made up of a diverse mix of musicians from across Texas and whose repertoire includes, R&B, Hip- Hop, and Soul Music.
