Carpenter recorded EVOLution at just 16, and the album captures an artist already pushing against the boundaries of her Disney Channel origins, leaning into sharper pop production and a more self-possessed vocal style than her debut. "Thumbs," in particular, became a fan favorite for its sardonic edge, hinting at the artistic confidence she'd spend the next decade building into a mainstream breakthrough.
Limited colored vinyl LP pressing. EVOLution is the sophomore album by pop icon Sabrina Carpenter. Released in 2016, it features the singles, "On Purpose" and "Thumbs."
