Sam Gendel has spent years orbiting the edges of the Los Angeles jazz underground, collaborating with artists like Ry Cooder and building a reputation for saxophone work that treats the instrument as something closer to a sound sculpture tool. Sam Wilkes brings a similarly restless sensibility to the bass, rooted in groove but never beholden to it. Together, their chemistry feels less like a session and more like a shared language.
The debut full-length album from the Los Angeles duo Sam Gendel and Sam Wilkes. Gendel plays Alto Saxofone and electronics, while Wilkes plays Bass Guitar and electronics.
