Product Details
Shelter emerged from the New York hardcore scene in the early '90s carrying the Krishnacore torch lit by Ray Cappo's earlier band Youth of Today, but Mantra pushed that vision further into melodic territory that connected with listeners well outside the traditional hardcore faithful. Cappo's lyrics drew directly from Vaishnava philosophy, making this one of the rare records in the genre where the spiritual content felt lived-in rather than grafted on.
Red and Clear Ghostly Vinyl. After three decades since it's initial release, Mantra Shelter's place as one of the most forward-thinking bands in hardcore. Mixing melody, speed, and spiritual reflection, the record stood out as a defining moment for the genre and opened the door for a more reflective and conscious side of the genre. The original audio remains untouched, preserving the sound that made it timeless, while the packaging has been reimagined in collaboration with the band, preserving the energy and intention that made the band's major label debut a cornerstone release for the scene. Featuring the original front cover artwork, a newly designed gatefold layout, and exclusive color variants, this pressing stands as a fitting tribute for it's milestone year.
