Product Details

Arriving in 1988 after the relentless assault of Reign in Blood, South of Heaven caught plenty of thrash faithful off guard with its slower tempos and cleaner production. That deliberate deceleration turned out to be a strategic masterstroke, giving songs like the title track and "Mandatory Suicide" room to breathe and hit harder for it.

Time has shown that SOUTH OF HEAVEN has had just the same staying power as the previous three Slayer releases, the tempo is more mature as the band progresses with balance and precision.
