Britt Daniel and Jim Eno recorded this one for Elektra, which famously dropped the band shortly after its release, a move that became indie rock lore and arguably galvanized Spoon into the relentlessly focused unit they'd become. The Austin group's scrappy, compressed energy here points directly toward the precision and confidence that would define their later work.

Originally released in 1998, Spoon's sophomore album A Series of Sneaks has not only become a favorite amongst the most diehard of Spoon fans, but is widely considered an overlooked classic in the band's exceptional repertoire. With all but three of the 14 tracks coming in under three minutes, A Series of Sneaks is a remarkably economic yet incredibly boisterous album that sounds as exciting and inventive since its original release over twenty years ago.
