Product Details

Long before Bradley Nowell became a cautionary symbol of squandered genius, he was just a Long Beach kid with a beat-up guitar, a Dalmatian named Lou Dog, and a tape deck full of reggae, punk, and hip-hop that nobody else was mixing quite like that. Recorded on a shoestring and originally self-released on Nowell's own Skunk Records, this debut captures a band still raw enough to be dangerous, pulling from Grateful Dead covers and Toots Hibbert with the same easy authority as Black Flag.

40oz. to Freedom is the 1992 debut album by the Southern California ska-punk band Sublime. Since its release in 1992, the album has proved to be a seller over time, moving over two million copies in the U.S. alone. 40oz. To Freedom contains the hits 'Date Rape,' 'Badfish,' and 'Smoke Two Joints.' Newly remastered, standard weight 2-LP gatefold is available.
