Lux Interior and Poison Ivy spent their careers gleefully excavating the darkest corners of American roots music, turning rockabilly, surf, and garage into something feral and genuinely menacing. This 1984 IRS Records compilation collects some of their sharpest early work, making it an ideal entry point for the uninitiated and a reliable reminder for the converted of just how unhinged and precise they could be simultaneously.
