The Sisters Of Mercy – First & Last & Always (CD)
The Sisters Of Mercy CDs
Product Details
Andrew Eldritch and company recorded *First & Last & Always* at a moment of genuine tension, with the band fracturing even as they were cementing their sound, and that friction is audible in every track. The drum machine they called Doktor Avalanche, combined with Wayne Hussey's guitar work and Eldritch's baritone, created a blueprint that countless bands spent the next decade trying to replicate without quite getting there.
Digitally remastered and expanded digipak reissue of this album, originally released in 1985 and recorded with the classic Eldritch/Hussey/Adams/Marx line-up. This line-up and, in particular, this album set the standard for Gothic/Alternative Rock for years to come. This re-issue has been remastered directly from the original studio tapes and has now been bolstered with six bonus tracks, one of which, 'Some Kind of Strange [Early]', is previously unreleased. Merciful. 2006.
