Upstate – Abalone (CD)

Product Details
Upstate is a Brooklyn-based collective rooted in the kind of unhurried, harmony-driven folk and Americana that rewards repeated listening. *Abalone* finds the band deepening that approach, weaving together acoustic textures and close vocal blends that feel as much at home on a front porch as on a festival stage. For fans who came up on the quieter side of the jam world, this one asks you to slow down and pay attention.
‘Circumstance’ is about living life as it comes to us, rather than as we would have otherwise imagined it. We might go about it in fits and starts, chasing security or fleeting consolation, but as is so often the case, we find our plans upended. In place of the ideal, we must search for light in that actual life, and pay attention to the good we can find in it.
