Upstate – Abalone (Cumulus White LP Vinyl)
Upstate Vinyl Records
Product Details
Upstate is a Brooklyn-based folk and Americana outfit whose patient, unhurried songwriting has built a quiet but devoted following in the live circuit. *Abalone* arrives on cumulus white vinyl, a pressing that suits music this atmospheric and deliberate, rooted in the kind of honest introspection that rewards repeated listens the way a great late-night set rewards staying until the end.
‘Circumstance’ is about living life as it comes to us, rather than as we would have otherwise imagined it. We might go about it in fits and starts, chasing security or fleeting consolation, but as is so often the case, we find our plans upended. In place of the ideal, we must search for light in that actual life, and pay attention to the good we can find in it.
