Product Details
Julian Casablancas spent the early 2000s redefining rock minimalism with The Strokes, then spent the better part of a decade building something deliberately harder to love. Tyranny landed as a genuine shock, drawing from krautrock, noise, and downtown New York art-punk in ways that rewarded patience and punished casual listening. This red vinyl pressing gives the album's dense, layered sonics a physical presence that suits its uncompromising character.
With Tyranny (2014), The Voidz - the project led by Julian Casablancas - deliver a radical, abrasive debut album, where dissonant guitars, chaotic rhythms, and a wide range of influences (punk, metal, world music, retro synths) collide to paint a dystopian sonic fresco.Far from conventional pop formats, the band explores a raw, experimental energy, blending political critique with artistic exploration, and cementing Casablancas's role as a musical agitator working well outside the beaten path.
