Long before the sardonic wit and Hollywood Babylon darkness of his 1976 self-titled breakthrough, Zevon was haunting Los Angeles as a journeyman songwriter, absorbing the Laurel Canyon scene while honing the literary instincts that would later earn him comparisons to Raymond Chandler set to music. These early recordings capture an artist still assembling the pieces, and hearing "Werewolves of London" in an unreleased form is a rare window into how a genuine cult classic took shape.

PRELUDES includes 16 rare and unreleased recordings by the great Warren Zevon. Featuring an unreleased version of the hit song "Werewolves of London". Also includes a bonus CD with an interview/radio special recorded in 2000. Tracks: "Studebaker," "Going All the Way," "Carmelita," "Steady Rain"
