Nathan Williams and Max Bemis have each spent years operating at the emotional extremes of punk and indie rock, one drowning guitars in distortion and sun-sick malaise, the other building confessional pop-punk into something almost operatic. Cherry Soda finds them meeting in the middle, a collaboration born from genuine mutual admiration rather than marketing logic, and the result carries the restless energy that made both artists matter in the first place.
Wavves helped define the late 2000s/early 2010s indie-surf-punk revival and broke through with 'King of the Beach.'
Say Anything's '...Is a Real Boy' remains one of the most influential emo/pop-punk records of the 2000s and recently celebrated its 20th anniversary.
This collab unites two distinct yet deeply connected corners of the alternative scene, bringing together artists whose catalogs have remained touchstones for fans for nearly two decades. Bridging indie rock, punk, emo, etc. the project connects two generations of alternative music listeners through a pairing that feels both unexpected and long overdue.

"When the idea first came up, it felt like one of those things that sounds cool but never actually happens. Then suddenly we were trading songs and putting everything together.
The split happened pretty casually. We weren’t trying to make some big statement— I just liked the idea of putting our music next to theirs and seeing what happened. Sometimes that’s enough.
