Weezer's four-EP seasonal cycle drew directly from Vivaldi's "The Four Seasons" as a conceptual touchstone, and the Autumn installment leans into that moodier, more introspective register. Rivers Cuomo and co. have always thrived when working within self-imposed creative constraints, and the real-time, season-by-season recording approach pushed SZNZ into genuinely uncharted territory for a band now three decades deep into one of rock's most scrutinized catalogs.
SZNZ: Autumn was released on 9/22 (on the Autumnal Equinox), with the focus track "What Happens After You". The album features production from Robopop, Tyler Cole & Suzy Shinn and "What Happens After You" was co-written with legendary song-writer Desmon Child. SZNZ, a four EP song cycle of sorts, is the latest ambitious project from the legendary band. Already mythical across the internet, SZNZ will, fittingly, be released at the start of every season. Each EP offers it's own palette of colors, creatures, and emotions to explore. They've also been created in real time, made in tandem with the season themselves.
