Jam Band CDs

For the listener who still buys the disc, reads the liner notes, and wants the full set: this is 85 jam band CDs drawn from the Dead vault, the GarciaLive catalog, Tedeschi Trucks Band, the Allman Brothers, and the wider scene that Relix has covered since 1974.

The collection runs from single-disc studio records to sprawling multi-disc sets. The Grateful Dead's Cornell 5/8/77 arrives as a 3xCD. Sunshine Daydream spreads across four discs. Jerry Garcia's Electric On The Eel is a 6xCD box set on Round Records, and Before The Dead collects four discs of pre-Dead Garcia on the same label. The GarciaLive series is well represented: GarciaLive Vol. 20: June 18th, 1982 - Cape Cod Coliseum, GarciaLive Volume 17: NorCal '76, and GarciaLive Volume Seven: November 8th 1976 Sophie's Palo Alto are all here. Live sets from outside the Garcia orbit include Tedeschi Trucks Band's Layla Revisited (Live at LOCKN') on 2xCD, Mad Dogs and Englishmen Revisited (Live at LOCKN') from Tedeschi Trucks Band and Leon Russell, and New Riders of the Purple Sage's Live At The Capitol Theater - October 31 1975 on 2xCD. The Allman Brothers Band's remastered Eat A Peach rounds out the studio side.

Why buy from Relix

Relix has been writing about the Grateful Dead, Phish, and the wider jam and roots world since 1974. That history shapes what ends up in the store: the titles here are ones the magazine has covered, reviewed, and cared about, not an algorithm's best guess at the genre. The store also carries the Relix Sessions series, live recordings produced by Relix and pressed to vinyl on the Relix Vinyl label. When we stock a multi-disc archival release or a deep-catalog remaster, it is because it belongs in a serious collection, not because it moved units.

Every CD in this collection is new and factory sealed. Pre-order titles display a street date on the product page and ship as soon as the label makes them available. CDs ship in protective packaging.

Browse related pages to go deeper: the full CDs collection covers the broader catalog, Grateful Dead CDs, Box Sets and Live Albums pulls together every Dead and Garcia disc in the store, Live Albums on CD focuses on concert recordings across artists, and Jam Band Vinyl Records has the LP side of the same catalog.
